There are musicians and bands you could say that not only play rock, but are rock itself. Just as Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart not only composed music, but you can say they are the music. There are bands like Deep Purple, who, along with Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and King Crimson among others, not only play rock but created this style and have became part of the history of music, with a philosophy that is reflected in their songs. There is hardly a rock band that has not been influenced by them. Today, after more than forty years on stage around the world, they continue to fill stadiums and play with great joy, touching the hearts of their fans. So it was yesterday at the Festhalle Frankfurt, in a concert that was noted for its very positive energy and joy.

Their guest band was the band originally from California,Rival Sons, who presented songs from their new album “Great Western Valkyrie” show, which opened with the legendary theme of the film “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” composed by Ennio Morricone, then delved into rock and blues, with a 60s-inspired sound.

At about 21:00, the Festhalle pulsated with the appearance of Deep Purple on stage in front of more than 9,000 spectators. The legendary band began the show with Highway Star and in seconds conquered the hearts of their fans once again. The audience sang and danced with the band for more than two hours onstage. The repertoire included legendary songs like “Black Night” and “Smoke on the Water”, as well as songs from their newest album “Now What?!.
